Business Car Insurance Backed By ‘Exceptional’ Service

What is Business Car Insurance?
Business car insurance, or company or commercial car insurance, is a specialist type of car insurance that’s designed to protect drivers who either have company cars or drivers who use their cars for work-related purposes.
If you’re using your car to commute to one place of work, then a standard car insurance policy should give you the protection you need. If, however, you use your car to visit clients or travel between offices or job sites, then you’ll need business car insurance. When you get your car insurance quote, talk to your insurance broker about your driving and they’ll give you the opportunity to choose between:
- Social, domestic and pleasure (SDP) – which covers you for driving to the shops, visiting friends and other day-to-day driving
- Social, domestic and pleasure and commuting – which also covers you for commuting to and from your regular workplace
- Social, domestic and pleasure, commuting and business use – covers you for driving for day-to-day driving, commuting and using your car for work purposes too
Like your car insurance, you can choose from three levels of commercial car insurance cover, third-party, third-party, fire and theft, and fully comprehensive. On top of that there are three classes of business car insurance:
This covers driving between multiple places of work or occasional travel to client meetings. It wouldn’t cover you for doing deliveries or working as a salesman making multiple stops in a day
Offers the same cover as class 1 but comes with the option of adding a named driver – usually a colleague and almost always someone who has the same work address as the policyholder. Again, this wouldn’t cover you for doing deliveries or working as a salesman making multiple calls in a day
Sometimes known as commercial travelling insurance, it could cover you if you drive long distances and/or do a lot of miles as part of your job so it’s ideal for sales representatives and the like. This won’t cover you if you use your car to make deliveries – for that, you’ll need courier insurance – or to carry paying passengers, for that you’ll need taxi insurance
